Deep Water Project (DWP) 30/04/2008 14:47 webmaster 85 |

Fellow Pemexans,
A few years ago, we engaged in a water project at our alma mater to commemorate the silver jubilee of “our blessed fountain”. Many of us agreed to carry out this project because it was common knowledge, at the time, that a constant water supply was and is still, a major problem at P.S.S. Mankon.
When this project was finished, the students, administrators, and parents too were delighted. Everyone expressed joy when the first drops of water trickled forth.
We, as Pemexans, applauded ourselves for giving back to an institution that gave us the immeasurable gift of what we are now. The students were equally contented because valuable time and energy spent foraging for consumable water could now be directed toward learning, the primary motive. Unfortunately, all our joy was short-lived!!!
A project, so well conceived, was very poorly executed. Blame for this dismal failure can be apportioned to many quarters, including ourselves. However, the blame game and any name calling will not cause those rusted pipes to bring forth “liquid gold”.
That is why we are shifting gears now. We want to resurrect this project and show the world that Pemexans can deliver. We have done our homework, and have learned from our mistakes.
P.S.S. Mankon needs our help. Our goal is not to solve all the problems at P.S.S. Mankon but to forge a new path, create a new vision and place our alma mater, infrastructure-wise as well, on the pedestal we all believe it deserves.
The project committee (Pemexa USA) needs your help. We are in the process of engaging a contractor, with a good track record, to redeem this project. The price tag is about 5.000.000 FCFA. |
